Filming Explained

Rubbish In - Rubbish out!

There is more to filming a wedding than simply pointing a camcorder in the right direction. At the heart of our wedding videos is polished, skilled camera-work. Film-making requires, in many aspects, similar skills to photography. Like a photographer, a wedding videographer has to ensure that the footage they shoot is properly exposed and in focus, as well as being creatively framed and composed. How well this is done determines the difference between mediocre and exceptional footage. And of course, unlike the photographer, your wedding videographer will usually only have one opportunity to get it right!

As the old maxim says, ‘rubbish in - rubbish out’. As full-time professional wedding videographers we know which shots and angles work to give your wedding video a really modern, professional look and style. We have an eye for the small details that will make your wedding film special.

Natural and Spontaneous Footage

As experienced wedding videographers we use an unobtrusive, reportage style of filming so that the footage we capture is both natural and spontaneous. During the day we blend into the background so that you and your guests can enjoy the day, hardly aware that we are there.  We rarely set anything up unless we are doing interviews or perhaps filming a specially requested sequence. To ensure the highest possible image quality we only use high-end, professional HD cameras.

Crisp, Clear Audio

The audio on your wedding video is just as important as the video itself, especially for the wedding vows and speeches. Although people often tend to take audio for granted, it is an integral and important part of any film. As professional wedding videographers we use professional shot-gun microphones and tiny wireless microphones plus an additional digital recorder during these important parts of the day. This helps us reduce the amount of background noise and capture stunningly clear audio.

Additionally, during the edit we use advanced software to 'sweeten' and adjust the audio to optimum levels as well as mixing the ambient sounds of the day with any music background tracks.
